CAILIN ELIZABETH WOODRUFF!
ABOUT ME!!
Within the last three years one of the major things I have learned is that everything happens for a reason. I can either succeed or fail depending on how I approach different situations. I have goals that I plan to accomplish within in the next year. I took my SAT and ACT in September and October of 2013. Since then I was accepted to Francis Marion University. These are things that take a role in how my life turns out and are very important.
In the next ten years, I plan to be graduated from Francis Marion University as a full time nurse. I have been trying to meet my goals since my freshman year of high school and work hard to accomplish the many things I have taken on. As a sophomore in high school I chose to go to the Academy for the Arts, Science, and Technology, for premed classes. These classes have been preparing me for the information that I will learn as college student to become a nurse.
I have been working since the day I turned fourteen and have had to take on a lot of responsibility. Working as a receptionist at a day spa on Saturdays has been a great work experience and I could not have asked for anything better. I have learned how people react to different things and how to handle it appropriately.
The people skills that I was able to learn over the last three years will be a great deal when I get into the medical field. When my mother told me that I had to work or I was n0t allowed to have certain things, that made me realize that was how it was going to be for the rest of my life. We have to work for what we want, it will not be handed to us. That is why being at work or school is a big thing for me. I don’t like sitting around and always feel the need to be doing something productive. The people at work are very accepting of working with a younger person and have tried their best to get involved in my education. The massage therapist are like another family to me and have studied with me before to explain things when it was needed. It means a lot because it lets me know they care and that with the support of others I can pursue my dreams.
When becoming a part of the premed program, I immediately knew that things would be different. The information had become more challenging and had a lot more reasoning and purpose behind it. I felt better learning information that could someday save a human life.
I believe that having me as a nurse in the medical field will be an asset because my past experiences and education. I would work hard and help others in need even outside of work. Knowing that I can make a difference in some one’s life is what makes me want to keep striving for my goals. Letting someone experience even one more day would be a success to me.
