How often a man should visit his doctor should be discussed between the two. -When to worry: Men should go to the andrologist if they have problems with any of the following:
Woman are twice as likely to go to the doctoe than a man is. Men should go to a doctors office just to make sure everything is alright and as far as the reproductive system goes, make sure to wear condomns. Unprotected sex can lead to pregnancy and even diseases. -Self testicular exams: These are an easy way for a guy to check for any lumps(cancer) in his testes. It is important for guys starting at age 15 to do a STE one a month to recognize the normal shape and size. This will help in the future if something abnormal appears. |
Female Reproductive System
Organs: Fallopian tube, uterus, ovaries, vagina, and cervix. -Health maintenance: Women go to a gynecologist, a doctor who focuses on women's reproductive health. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that teenage girls start seeing a gynecologist between the ages of 13 and 15. A female should go to the gynecologist if she has had sex of any kind, if it has been 3+ months since her last period, if she has signs of PID, problems with your period, if she hasn't gotten her period by 15, and if you are having sex and missed a period. You can talk about any concerns including:

If having sex she can get the HPV vaccine to protect herself from the disease. Other good things to take into consideration are condoms and birth control, both of which can prevent pregnancy (not guaranteed). -Self breast exams Self-breast exams should be done monthly to keep an eye out for any lumps or masses that may have formed. These lumps could be signs of cancer and should immediately be consulted with your doctor! |
